We are planning to construct a new substation on property at 6 Fitch St. This location is adjacent to one of our existing substations and also next to the High-voltage lines on the railroad. Recently, the most used word in the electrical industry has been “conservation”. How can we find ways here in southwestern Connecticut to reduce our electrical usage?
By reducing our use as an overall municipality, we can reduce, or eliminate the extra cost the independent System Operators in New England (ISO/NE) charge us to supply more electrically than we’ve contracted for per hour.
